list:
making notes of materials and tutorials about how to make the scythe.
(I don't wanna buy a heat gun damn it >_> )
Found the perfect fabric though still need a lining fabric.
Found a pattern for at least the skirt but the bodice is still iffy. Nothing on the caplet yet.
Had boots but they're not as comfy as I would like - not for walking a con for three days. Will probably make fabric boots.
There will be work in progress pics once I've gathered everything. In the meantime I have to reorganize my room so I have space to work. I hoping to get a big part of the scythe done before classes start up September 22 at which point I'll have very little time between classes and work. Yay for full-time student and semi-full-time employment. *sigh*

Bernardette Costume Breakdown part 1
Fabric: Bottomwieght Stretch Sateen – Blackberry (dark purple), black lining fabric, white piping, and white trim
Patterns: Simplicity 5006 – skirt and top, modified, and Simplicity 1294 for cape with hood, modified
Blade: 1” (2.54cm) ridged-insulation foam
Handle: curved shower curtain rod (got a double one so had 2 rods to work with)
Bought gloves, gave them a wash in black dye to darken them but they don’t stay up very well. However, there is now a McCall’s pattern (M7397) for it, I intend to pick that up one day.
A lot of reference pictures – any sketch or comic page Stjepan put up helps give a ful
random idea
I should do Bernie's beach look. Mid-thigh t-shirt dress and big sun hat, works for me.
Devious Journal Entry
So the lay of things.
I think I'm going to rock Bernardette for a few years, with minor tweaks and updates as needed and desired. Biggest thing right now is a better detailed scythe, pratice with the makeup, and colored contacts. Things to tackle in the new year.
As for Arianna Balthasar; its a dream project but has to be on the back burner for awhile. Though I may tackle a different, more lightly armored lady in the meantime, kind of armor practice.
Personal... kind of down, kind of tired, but I trudge on, its what I do.
*sigh*
Due to money (the lack there of) I will have to put off doing Captain Arianna Balthasar from Ravine by ~nebezial (https://www.deviantart.com/nebezial) until next year. Creating armor is not a cheap process the first time, need a lot of supplies/things that I don't have to do something of the quality I want to achieve. Going to focus on refining my Bernadette cosplay (me and I totally plan to do a better pic where I mimic that "poster").
