So didn't go as my original character to ECCC but did get my custom corset from Xcentricities ([link] ^_^
Went as Keres from Fey Winds [link] by :iconlelenia: read it
Also did it Sakura-Con, had to show off the corset even though my friends were HighSchool of the Dead characters.
Great Cons miss them already.

Just over a week until Emerald City Comic Con [link] and I I can't wait. ^_^
This year, due to a few hiccups I am going in an original costume/character. I have taken off a good chunk of time from work so shall spend a portion of that scouring local second hand shops and what not to see what I can find to go with some pieces I already have. This shall be an interesting project, and maybe, just maybe, I can get pass this thrice damned creative block I have had for ages what feels like ages.

Well I found it, of course in the pile of drawings I'd intended to scan for quite some time now. >_> I really have no excuse accept laziness. I have my own scanner. <_< meh. So it has been scanned and added, along with a couple other drawings. Of course this just hammers home the fact that I haven't been drawing much over the last few years. I really should fix that. Though there are a lot of things I need to address about my life, I think that's the one I'm most disappointed in. I used to be so extremely passionate about but it got a bit neglected and squashed. Probably didn't help that it was never properly encouraged, my dad didn't know what to do with a kid whose soul interest was doodling and scribbling and painting whimsical things. And this was before regular internet access. I am the middle child of a widow, things weren't really hard but they weren't easy either, I didn't know where or who to turn to to get the information and feedback I needed to really follow my passion.

I cling to my moments of whimsy whenever I can but they too are becoming far and few. It is a bit easier now with the internet and proper resources but when the passion has faded to a smoothed ember, its very hard to coax the flame back to life.

Fah, enough depressing ramblings.
ONWARD!

I have taken to leaving a sketch book open on my desk next to my computer and I try to at the very least doodle some nonsense every day/every other day. Let's hope I can keep it up.

I did this drawing once...
I thought I had scanned it...
I haven't.
Its a pretty good drawing.
And now I have to find it.

Seriously, there are several things over the years that I have drawn and have never scanned. Things that are pretty good and that I can't believe I haven't scanned yet. I think that shall be my task this week; locate and scan 'forgotten' drawings.

Not cool. Stealing other people's art is terrible and despicable. I can't really identify any of the pieces but hopefully someone else can.

Apparently all I have to do to get a spike in views is put up a bunch of cosplay pictures from a convention. LOL

Anyway, I've finally finished uploading the best of the pictures I got from Emerald City Comicon and SakuraCon. I had a blast at both though I do wish I had gotten some really good pictures on my camera of my,and my group's, costumes. I did go by myself to ECCC which kind of sucked and then I didn't learn about the deviant meet up at sakuracon until too late, if there is one next year I'm totally going.

The cons were over too fast really, back to back as they were, but using some vacation time for work to take 12 days off was really nice. ^_^

Anyway, I hope everyone likes the pictures and those who were there had fun too.

I have a nice shiny new scanner, now the new problem is actually drawing something I feel is worth scanning, never mind remembering to scan it.

Going forth, I am going to Emerald City Comicon (end of March) and Sakura-Con (beginning of April) and I really can't wait. Have to finish fixing my ECCC costume and find a few more peices for my Sakura costume. Maybe this year I'll post pictures.

In other news:
College is going well, but being a full-time student and working 30+ hours a week is taking a toll and killing my creativity. I doodle in my notebook at school and on scratch paper at work but I've not really had a good solid idea or drawing to want to share. Might be a lot of doodles next time I post something (which will hopefully be sooner then later).

Of course I'd probably have more if I regularly posted pics but lack of scanner and anything really worth posting kinda puts a damper on that.

Well I should also point out, I've started college (again) and am trying to maintain a 30+ hour work week; so short of rough sketches here and there, finished or at least worth posting stuff is going to few and far between. Not that I've been posting regularly to begin with.

Well, here's hoping that the new year will bring the opportunity to do some drawings and hopefully a scanner >_>

-Keep going.

I want this. Actually I want the whole soundtrack but after a little research its apparently only available on iTunes... which I don't have. It sucks.

Its from the movie "Sunshine" (IMDB [link] which I recently got to see on tv. And even with the tv editing or commercials, I really want to see it again. I need to get my hands on the dvd.

I love Halloween. It possibly stems from my long habit of drifting into imaginary worlds. Halloween, along with a couple of events I attend, allows me to be apart of those places I 'visit', to be the character I imagine. Of course, over the years, I have learned the history of Halloween (though to recite any of it right now I'd have to look it up, its been a while) and that has made me like it even more.

Sadly the last several years, I have been working it, or my friends have, or something. I haven't gotten to indulge in the full awesomeness that is Halloween. This year I've managed to get some decorations up outside, don't know how I ended up with a pumpkin theme but there it is, though possibly its because they wouldn't offend my dad and step-mom and encourage the trick or treaters. Maybe next year I'll go a little more scary.

Also carved pumpkins ^^ haven't done that in ages, it was fun. Think I'll post that picture.

So the dilemma is that I can't connect to the scanner I currently have. Guess this is what happens when you get it for free. I think for my birthday I'll spurge and get myself I nice new scanner-printer. So yeah, that's why all I've added recently is photos. It is odd though, always considered myself more of a drawer/illustrator then photographer. Photography was just something I dabbled in. Hmm, can't wait for the new scanner because I've some really old, as in non-digital, photos I want to add.

Took a trip to Portland, OR then to Cannon Beach, OR.

I needed that.

Over the course of 1.5 hours I took 133 pictures at Lan Su Chinese Garden in Portland. That felt good. I also took pictures in and around Cannon beach, only 118 and still need to go through those and pick out the ones I like best.

Hope folks like the few I posted.

I'm in it deep.

I feel like all my sketches are crap, not that it helps that my scanner is being obnoxious. Every time I want to take pictures I don't have my camera or the battery is dead. I've come across a meme that has you take an old drawing and re-do it and I think I might take on that, could help.

Feh. Creativity and motivation have become rather elusive for too long and I wonder if its worth holding onto. But then I get these flashes, these ideas but I'm not in a position to act upon it.

I don't know but  I needed to ramble and vent and just get that out.

*sigh*
I hope this passes.

So, between crazy work and lazy days, I've finally uploaded some of the pictures I took at the Japanese Garden in Seattle, WA.

I glad people have Favorited several of the images but I would also LOVE if people actually left comments. Its not like its hard; if you like the picture enough to favorite it then is it so hard to say something about it? I don't expect a lengthy complicated review or something but a few words about why you like it would be nice. Heck, DA even reminds you to leave a comment when you favorite a picture. Granted if the image already has a ton of comments and you don't really have anything constructive to add then I understand not leaving a comment.

Personally, I've shared very little of my photography with others until I started posting here, and the reason I post them here is that I do want feedback. I want to know what people think, why they like something, if there is something they think could have been better or even if they don't like something.

*sigh*

Don't mind my little rant, I'm going to go back to my doodles and scribbles.

Have a nice day.

I'm thinking about picking through some of my photos and changing them to stock (or whatever the options are) and remove the watermark. But I'm not sure what would be gained from it. I'm a tad possessive of my work but I think some would like to be able to use them. Of course, no one has requested the use of any of my images... so perhaps not.

It'd also be nice to receive feedback on them... guess I need to get myself out there more.

I've dabbled in some photography recently, as the latest additions to my gallery would indicate. Of course it hasn't helped that I misplaced the super long pass-code for the network so couldn't hook up my scanner, then had my hard drive die - I was able to save all my files so yay ^^ but I was without for 2.5 weeks. >.<

In a few weeks I'll be going to Sakura Con in Seattle; now my costume for Emerald City Comic Con hadn't gotten finished in time so I didn't get to wear it but I still had a blast. Anyway, it'll be done for Sakura Con and hopefully I'll get some great pictures.
